Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files, which are stored on the computer of a website visitor. These cookies collect anonymous traffic data and allow for an analysis of the visitor’s usage of this website.

Here are some hints in case you want to avoid being tracked by Google Analytics:

  • Add the line “127.0.0.1 www.google-analytics.com” to the hosts file on your computer. This prevents your web browser from downloading the JavaScript file that is required by Google Analytics to track web usage.
    • Mac, Unix: /etc/hosts
    • Windows XP: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
  • Use a browser extension such as CustomizeGoogle or NoScript which can prevent tracking by Google Analytics.
  • Use an anonymizer proxy such as TOR/Privoxy to browse the web more anonymously.

To avoid any additional issues concerning the current data privacy caused by using full IP addresses, QuinLogic uses the Google extension _anonymizeIp() and only works with reduced IP addresses.
